khunkoh, care to update if u endorse, where and how much the lawyer fee... my personal opinion is since Thai Embassy already endorse, then it should be alright.since the lawyer cant read what the original document is,so on what ground they can endorse it??then which party to endorse that the lawyer is authentic??555

as i said i cant remember which to come first since it was 5 yrs ago. it should be verify by the embassy then follow by the lawyer rubber chop. the last time the thai translator give me an address to go there n get it chop after the verification by the embassy
so it best to ask ur translator when he or she is doing the translation on ur papers.
is not the matter on what ground to get it chop and is not your personal option. It is the procedure or process. It is best to confirm with someone who have done it recently.
Cheers

I have applied for both Thai student pass and also bring in my own Thai maid and both required a Notary Public endorsement for translated copy followed by authentication by the Thai Embassy. Lawyer fee cost few hundreds depend on how many documents.
As for PR application i think the process is much simpler and from their requirement an Official Translation is required as stated which in this case as long as Thai Embassy chop on the translated copy then it is deemed acceptable.(nobody else higher than them liao mah) Authentication by Thai Embassy used to be free donkey years ago but last i did few years back was $10 or $20 a piece, not sure now how much.
